English:  We are continuing to read Krindlekrax this week and we will be looking at the Street where the story is set and sourcing the evidence from the book to see where each house/building is and what they look like.

Don’t forget it is WORLD BOOK DAY on Thursday!

This week…

In English we are looking at creative writing using Krindlekrax as a stimulus.  The boys will be selecting their vocabulary carefully for effect as well as trying to vary their sentence openings which we have been exploring in grammar lessons.  Spelling this week will be different homophones (as there are so many!) which will be taught on Wednesday.

Maths:  We are exploring the properties of triangles and classifying them using Venn Diagrams and Carroll Diagrams.  The game below will also revise the different angles too:

This week…

Maths: We are looking at aspects of time this week.  The boys will all be revising telling the time on an analogue clock and then looking at the relationship between units of time.  This will lead on to work relating to mental maths questions where they are frequently asked to add or subtract time.  Finally we are exploring some time problems.

English: We are moving on to non fiction genres this week and the boys will be writing information texts about crocodiles.  Their homework will be to gather all of the information about crocodiles and then use this on Thursday in the class lesson.
