Thank you

All of the staff in year 4 wanted to say a huge thank you for your extremely generous gifts.  Mrs Chronias and I also had a lovely evening out last weekend and it was great to meet so many of the parents-thank you for organising this too.  It has been a really enjoyable term and we look forward to the next two terms!  Have a fantastic Christmas break and we will see you all in 2014.

The last week…

So here we are; the last week of the first term in year 4!  This week is a busy week.  We have music exams, concerts, Christmas lunch, a Christmas quiz and lots more too.  In class this week we are finishing off topics from this term.  We are looking at the Christmas story in many of our lessons and the children will be creating a booklet to describe a perfect Christmas (linking into the poem ’twas the night before Christmas’).  They will be able to choose the genre and many made a start today.  We have some diaries, guides, stories and non fiction books already being started.  These will be illustrated and ready to take home on Wednesday.

In maths, my group are looking at symmetry (in any lessons we have left) which will link into the coordinates work from last week.

The children have been asked by Mrs Harrison to make a special effort to learn their words for the carol concert which is tomorrow night.  As the class had maths, science and music exams today and are out late tomorrow night, I have not issued maths homework tonight but they can look at ‘my maths’ or look at the following link which covers several topics that we have been covering in class recently:
